Healthy Kids Banana Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Recipe

               
Enjoy a diabetic-friendly ice cream recipe swirled with cinnamon and dotted with dark chocolate chips. This "ice cream" is actually made with ripe bananas and is a healthy substitute for store-bought pints full of preservatives.

Recipe yields 8 servings
4 large ripe bananas
2 Tbsp mini dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate
1 Tbsp cinnamon

Step 1

Chop the bananas into 2-inch pieces. Place in a freezer bag or wrap in plastic wrap and freeze for at least 1 hour.

Step 2

In a food processor, pulse the bananas until they are chunky and granular. Process, scraping down the sides as needed, until creamy and smooth.

Step 3

Transfer to a bowl and stir in chocolate chips and cinnamon. Freeze, covered, for at least 3 hours.
