Looking for a heart-healthy alternative to a traditional London Broil? Then look no further because this Turkey London Broil recipe is a fantastic (and delicious) choice for anyone who’s watching their red meat intake. Lean white meat turkey breast is packed with protein and low in calories, making it a great option for those watching their weight and aiming for a heart-healthy diet. Even better, with 34g of protein and only 3g of carbs per serving, it’s a diabetic-friendly meal that’s sure to fill you up while keeping your blood sugar steady.

Yes, this Turkey London Broil is absolutely healthy, and here’s why:

  • Lean Protein: Lean turkey breast is a protein powerhouse. You’ll hit your protein goals easily with this recipe because just 5 oz contains 34 grams of protein.
  • Heart-Healthy: With only 1g of saturated fat per serving, this recipe is a great option for maintaining a healthy heart.
  • Lower Sodium: Traditional London broil recipes are typically packed with sodium. However, this healthy Turkey London Broil has much less sodium and added salt, which makes it an amazing choice if you are watching your sodium intake.
  • Low Carb-Friendly: With only 3 grams of carbs per serving, this Turkey London Broil easily fits in a healthy low carb lifestyle.
  • Gluten-Free: By using gluten-free low sodium soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce), this recipe is perfect for anyone who’s on a gluten-free diet.

Grilling this Turkey London Broil is ideal because it adds a wonderful depth of flavor to the recipe. However, if grilling isn’t an option for you, this recipe is also delicious cooked in an oven.

Preheat your oven to 425℉. Place the marinated turkey breast in a roasting pan. Place the turkey breast in the oven and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, tent the turkey breast with foil and continue to bake until the turkey is cooked through, and a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast reads 165℉. This should take about 30 additional minutes. However, you need to use the meat thermometer as a cooking guide. Once it reaches 165℉, the turkey is finished cooking.

The marinade for this healthy turkey recipe is where the dish gets its delicious flavor. You can’t skip the marinade or marinate the turkey for less than 3 hours. Ideally, you can marinate the turkey breast overnight but 3 hours is the absolute minimum.

Combine all of the marinade ingredients and place in a sealed container with the turkey breast. Make sure as much of the turkey breast is covered in the marinade as possible. Flip or turn the turkey breast every couple of hours to ensure every part of the breast is submerged in the marinade. If you can only marinate the turkey breast for 3 hours, turn it halfway through the marinate time.

Regardless of how long you marinate the turkey breast, be sure to discard the marinade before cooking the turkey.

  2. Step 2
