Healthy Kids Honey Yogurt Berry Parfaits Recipe

               
Get a boost of calcium and vibrant berry flavor from this heart-healthy yogurt parfait. Layer oats and almonds with spiced yogurt and berries for a wholesome breakfast dish that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

Ingredients
Recipe yields 6 servings
1/2 cup uncooked oats (gluten free if needed)
1/4 cup sliced natural almonds
2 Tbsp wheat germ
1 Tbsp orange juice
1 Tbsp honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
12 oz nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt (gluten free if needed)
12 oz nonfat plain Greek yogurt (gluten free if needed)
1 cup sliced strawberries
1 cup blueberries

Directions
Step 1

Preheat oven to 325°. Lightly spray 8-inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine oats, almonds and wheat germ.

Step 3

In another small bowl, combine orange juice, honey and cinnamon.

Step 4

Add juice mixture to oat mixture; mix well.

Step 5

Spread mixture evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until toasted, stirring twice during baking. Remove from oven. Transfer mixture to sheet of foil to cool completely.

Step 6

In a bowl, combine the yogurts.

Step 7

In 6 parfait or other glasses, evenly divide yogurt, berries and granola in layers.
