Heart Healthy Apple Chips Recipe

               
An oven, apples, and cinnamon are all you need to make perfectly spiced apple chips. This wholesome, heart-healthy snack is great for school lunches, game day treats, or whenever your sweet tooth strikes.

Recipe yields 6 servings
4 large Cortland apples, seeded and thinly sliced
4 tsp cinnamon

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200°. Line 4 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

Using a sharp knife or mandoline, cut apples into thin slices (if using a mandoline, cut the apple in half first, then start with the sliced part facedown on the mandoline). With a knife, remove the seeds. Arrange apple slices in a single layer on the baking sheets.

Step 3

Sprinkle 2 tsp of the cinnamon over apples.

Step 4

Bake the apples for 1 hour. Flip the apple slices and sprinkle with the remaining 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Bake for 2 hours, or until crisp. Store in airtight container.
