Crumbled blue cheese and crispy bacon make delicious partners for caramelized Brussels sprouts in this boldly flavored, heart-healthy recipe. Create a mouthwatering appetizer that cooks up in less than 30 minutes.

Recipe yields 12 servings
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp salt
Black pepper to taste
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled (gluten free if needed)

Directions
Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°.

Step 2

In a bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with the oil, salt and pepper. Arrange the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet halved side down and roast for 10 to 12 minutes.

Step 3

Remove from the oven and turn all the Brussels sprouts halved side up. Top each Brussels sprout half with about 1/4 teaspoon blue cheese and some bacon crumbles.

Step 4

Return to the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool. Serve with toothpicks inserted in center.
