Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly coat a 9- x 13- x 2-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, mix together sugar, flour, cocoa and baking soda. Slowly add egg, oil, prune plum filling, vanilla extract, water and milk. Mix until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until set. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with confectioners sugar, if using.
