Whole wheat flour and nut butter give this classic recipe a healthy boost. Dark chocolate-dotted peanut butter cookies are soft, sweet, and hold a special surprise in the center.
You know those peanut butter cookies you loved as a kid with the chocolate kiss in the middle? Here’s a healthy peanut butter blossom cookie recipe that’s sure to bring back lots of good memories. This version replaces some of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for more fiber. It also uses less sugar and butter than most store-bought cookies. And the Hershey’s kisses are dark chocolate, which may be healthier than milk chocolate. This all adds up to a decadently delicious cookie that satisfies both adults and kids alike. You may be surprised to find out that these peanut butter cookies can be part of a heart-healthy diet, as long as you maintain some restraint in the portion department. Even just a single cookie can take you back to days gone by when you enjoyed these quintessential cookies as a child.
