Heart Healthy Spooky Orange Smoothie Recipe

               
Mix together banana, lime juice, and papaya for a sweet, refreshing sip of Halloween-inspired smoothie goodness. This fruity, diabetic-friendly blend will stand out in the sea of preservative-loaded candies.

Recipe yields 4 servings
3 cups frozen papayas cubes
2 small ripe bananas peeled, sliced and frozen
1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
1 cup carrot juice
1 cup light coconut milk

Step 1

In a blender, blend all ingredients until creamy and smooth. Chill in the refrigerator until serving. The smoothies will keep for up to 24 hours, chilled.

Step 2

If serving for Halloween, cut 12 black triangles for the “eyes” and “nose” and 4 jack-o’-lantern mouths out of black construction paper. Tape the “faces” on 4 clear glasses. Pour the orange smoothies into the clear glasses and serve.
