Heart Healthy Tropical Lemonade Recipe

               
No refined sugar or artificial lemon here. Tropical Lemonade is sweetened with coconut nectar and has a bold, crisp flavor that brings out the best of summertime. Brighten up any meal by adding this ice-cool drink.

Recipe yields 12 servings
1/2 cup coconut nectar or coconut sugar
1 cup water
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from approximately 6 lemons)
4 cups cold water

Directions
Step 1

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the coconut nectar or coconut sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.

Step 2

Remove the saucepan from the heat and transfer the mixture to a glass pitcher. Add lemon juice and cold water. Stir to combine.

Step 3

Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, or until chilled. Serve over ice cubes.
