Healthy Black Forest Trifle

Heavenly chocolate mousse swirled with homemade whipped cream, dark cherries, and vanilla creates a one of a kind, heart-healthy dessert. Garnish with fresh mint for a deliciously cool finish.

How to Make Black Forest Trifle

Mousse

  1. Make mousse: In a blender, combine avocados, bananas, cocoa powder, dates and cinnamon and blend until smooth and creamy.

Whipped Cream

  1. Make whipped cream: Remove the coconut milk from the refrigerator. Separate out the top layer of thick cream from the liquid (discard the liquid). In a chilled small mixing bowl, blend coconut cream for 4 minutes or until soft peaks form. Add the vanilla and maple syrup and whip for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, or until stiff peaks form.

Trifle

  1. Assemble trifle: In a glass serving bowl, layer mousse, frozen cherries and whipped cream. Garnish with cocoa powder, whole cherries, dark chocolate and mint, if desired. Serve immediately.
