Gluten Free Strawberry Almond Smoothie Recipe

               
Start your morning or pep up your afternoon with a naturally sweet, irresistibly creamy and nutrient rich smoothie. With just seven simple ingredients, this vegan and gluten-free Strawberry Almond Smoothie will boost your day with delicious flavor.

Ingredients
Recipe yields 4 servings
2 lbs strawberries (about 8 cups), stems removed and plus additional for garnish
1 cup chopped ice
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup almond butter
1 tsp almond extract
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1/2 cup slivered almonds, if desired

Directions
Step 1

Place all of the ingredients except the slivered almonds in a blender. Manually blend on low speed until just combined. Increase the speed gradually to medium high and blend until very smooth.

Step 2

Chill the smoothie in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight. If desired, serve topped with sliced strawberries and slivered almonds for garnish.

Step 3

Smoothie keeps, covered and chilled, for up to 1 week.
