How to Make Slow Cooker Mac and Cheese

  1. Step 1

Cook the macaroni to al dente according to package directions, about 8 minutes. Drain and lightly drizzle with extra virgin olive oil to prevent it from sticking.

  2. Step 2

In a saucepan, whisk together milk, sour cream, butter, and mustard until well combined. Add cheddar cheese, mozzarella, salt and pepper and cook over medium-high heat, stirring, until cheese is melted and sauce forms.

  3. Step 3

Stir cooked macaroni into the cheese mixture, and transfer to the slow cooker.

  4. Step 4

Cook on low for 1½ hours, stirring occasionally. Serve warm with a sprinkle of toasted panko.
