Healthy Kids Holiday Dip and Veggies Recipe

               
Make the season bright with this festive vegetable dip recipe. Bell peppers, broccoli and cherry tomatoes paired with a garlicky buttermilk dip will add a healthy boost to your holiday table.

Recipe yields 16 servings
Dip
12 oz 1/3-less-fat cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk
3 tsp chopped fresh dill
3 small garlic cloves, minced
3/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Veggies
2 heads broccoli florets
1 pint cherry tomatoes
1/4 yellow bell pepper, sliced thin or
1/2 oz pretzel sticks
1 bunch cauliflower, cut into florets

Step 1

In a bowl, combine cream cheese, buttermilk, dill, garlic, onion powder, salt and black pepper. Cover with plastic wrap and keep chilled while assembling the “Christmas tree.”

Veggies
Step 1

On a flat platter, arrange the broccoli florets in a tree pattern with the cherry tomatoes in 2 layers as “ornaments.” Arrange the bell pepper strips in the shape of a star at the top of the “tree.”

Step 2

Arrange the pretzel sticks as the tree “trunk.” Arrange the cauliflower florets as the “snow” at the bottom of the tree.

Step 3

Serve the dip with the vegetables.
