How to Make Beef Tacos

  1. Step 1

    Lightly coat a large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Heat skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sauté ground beef for about 5 minutes, or until browned, stirring to crumble meat. With a slotted spoon remove beef from pan and set aside. Drain fat from pan. Add onion and sauté until softened.

  2. Step 2

    Return beef to pan and add water, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, chili powder and cumin. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until thickened.

  3. Step 3

    Warm taco shells according to package directions. Fill tacos evenly with beef mixture and top with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes
