How to Make Carrot Orange Juice

  1. Step 1

With a grater, grate the ginger over a bowl. In your hand, scoop up the grated ginger fiber and squeeze the ginger over a cup or bowl. Discard the ginger fiber. Set aside ginger juice.

  2. Step 2

To make fresh-squeezed orange juice: Tightly squeeze or roll each orange firmly with the palm of your hand across a flat surface to soften it up. With a sharp knife, slice each orange in half. Grip one of the orange halves tightly and squeeze it by hand while pressing down on a manual juicer to squeeze the juice out. Repeat with each orange half. For juice with pulp, with a spoon, scrape the orange and add the pulp to the juice. For clear juice, pour the juice through a strainer.

  3. Step 3

Add 1/2 oz of the ginger juice to a cocktail shaker; reserve the rest for another use. Add the fresh orange juice (or the store-bought orange juice, if using), the carrot juice and ice to the shaker and shake vigorously. Serve immediately.
